Your first consultation

Your first consultation is as important to us as it is to you.

The doctor is interested to :

• find out about your general medical condition and medical history
• view all previous imaging studies or radiology reports you may have
• perform a comprehensive orthopaedic examination
• obtain further X-rays or other imaging studies, perhaps on the very same day if necessary

Based on the results of these aspects of your examination a diagnosis can be made. You will be given an in-depth explanation about your condition and be guided to the best treatment option. The doctor encourages mutual discussion so that you can leave your first consultation with a clear understanding of your condition and treatment options.

In some cases advanced imaging studies will need to be arranged in the future. Or a time period may be required to assess a particular prescribed treatment. In these circumstances, a second review with the doctor is necessary.
